HI, I’M DR. DAVINNA LIGONS, PHD

I am a Lifestyle & Metabolic Health Educator and Prevention & Health Advocate dedicated to advancing health literacy, metabolic awareness, and long-term well-being through education and community engagement.

My work is grounded in systems thinking — helping people understand how daily habits, environments, and stressors shape physiological function and long-term health outcomes over time.

My Journey

My personal health journey began in 2013, when I experienced a pivotal moment that led me to explore the profound impact of lifestyle, nutrition, and daily rhythms on overall well-being. That experience shaped my commitment to prevention-focused education and empowered me to pursue deeper scientific understanding.

Today, I am the founder of Healing Made Whole, a platform devoted to helping individuals and communities develop the knowledge, confidence, and agency needed to take an active role in their health.

My Approach

I believe that sustainable health is built through understanding cause-and-effect relationships in the body — how sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, and environment interact over time.

Rather than focusing on symptoms, my work emphasizes upstream awareness, pattern recognition, and informed decision-making.

My programs are educational in nature and are designed to complement, not replace, professional medical care.

My Training

I earned my PhD through graduate training in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute.

These experiences strengthened my analytical, investigative, and critical thinking skills and shaped my commitment to evidence-informed public health education.

To further support my work in lifestyle education, I also completed professional certifications in Functional Nutrition Counseling (CFNC) and Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP).

My Commitment

At Healing Made Whole, my mission is to promote prevention, resilience, and health understanding — so individuals and communities are better equipped to engage proactively and responsibly in their own well-being.

All services are educational and supportive in nature and do not include medical diagnosis or treatment.
