Education & Advocacy
Lifestyle & Metabolic Health Education
I am Dr. Davinna Ligons, PhD, a Lifestyle & Metabolic Health Educator and Prevention & Health Advocate.
My work focuses on helping people better understand their bodies, their health, and the everyday factors that can shape well-being over time.
Through Healing Made Whole, I bring together science, health education, prevention, and a whole-person perspective to explore the relationships between lifestyle and health.
What I Focus On
Much of my work centers on helping people better understand how areas such as:
Nutrition
Movement
Sleep
Stress
Recovery
Metabolic health
Inflammation
Health literacy
can interact and influence how we feel, function, and experience health over time.
The goal is not to tell people exactly how they should live. It is to provide greater understanding so they can make more informed decisions for themselves.
Who This Work Is For
This work is for individuals and communities who want to better understand health beyond isolated symptoms, trends, or one-size-fits-all advice.
It may be especially helpful for people who want to:
Better understand how everyday habits affect the body
Learn more about metabolic and inflammatory health
Make sense of conflicting health information
Develop more sustainable approaches to well-being
Better understand common health information and conversations with healthcare providers
Take a more active and informed role in their long-term health
My Approach
My approach is science-informed and whole-person.
I believe physical health does not exist separately from the emotional, social, spiritual, and practical realities of everyday life.
Education therefore includes not only understanding physiology, but also helping people recognize patterns, ask better questions, and develop greater agency in how they care for themselves and engage with healthcare.
This work is intended to complement appropriate medical care, not replace it.
A Growing Body of Work
Healing Made Whole continues to grow through education, community engagement, ongoing study, and the practical questions that arise in real life.
The work is grounded in science while remaining open to learning, refinement, and deeper understanding.
Education & Community Engagement
My educational work may take the form of:
Workshops
Small-group learning
Community education
Faith-based programs
Speaking engagements
Online education
Limited individual education sessions
Programs and presentations are developed according to the audience, setting, and educational goals of each engagement.
I also welcome opportunities to collaborate with organizations and communities interested in health literacy, prevention, and whole-person well-being.
Important Notice
